Itasca State Park, headwaters of the Mississippi River, has programs during the winter months. Cross country skiing trials are also available. A fabulous information and interpretive center is open year-round. Well worth a visit! 218-266-2100

Detroit Lakes Area:

Skiing: 42 miles of groomed trails are available for cross-country skiing.  Trail maps are available at the Chamber office.

Snowmobiling: 200 plus groomed miles of Winter Wonderland trails.  Maps are available at the Chamber office. 

Curling Club: Located 1/2 mile north on Hwy 59.  218-847-8186

Ice Skating: The Kent Freeman Sports Arena and new indoor satellite arena as well as outdoor rinks with warming houses are available.

Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge: Home to over 250 species of birds, Tamarac is a wildlife haven not to be missed!  Features an exhibit area, bookstore, slide program, boat accesses, hunting areas, hiking trails, cross-country skiing and a self-guiding auto tour.  Located 18 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes. 218-847-2641.
